GetResponse Reviews 2024
GetResponse is a widely recognized email marketing tool, boasting a substantial user base of over 400K customers globally. For full transparency, I have been using GetResponse for over 2 years now. I have been impressed with their ability to innovate and stay ahead of the competition with some new AI features. One of the dangers of being innovative is that you can get away from your core business model, spread yourself thinly, and become too complicated. We will talk more about that later.
I will attempt to offer a comprehensive overview of the platform, highlighting my direct experiences. And talk about the advantages and drawbacks of GetResponse.
What is GetResponse?
GetResponse is an all-in-one marketing platform that allows businesses to create, automate, and analyze their email campaigns. It offers a wide range of features designed to help you reach your target audience effectively, using automation to drive conversions.
But GetResponse isn't just about sending emails. It also offers advanced automation features that can save you time and effort. With its automation workflows, you can set up personalized journeys for your subscribers based on their actions or preferences.
Another standout feature of GetResponse is its comprehensive analytics dashboard. This allows you to track the performance of your email campaigns in real-time, providing valuable insights into open rates, click-through rates, conversions, and more.
GetResponse also provides landing page creation tools, webinar hosting capabilities, A/B testing options, and integrations with popular CRM platforms like Salesforce and Shopify. Basically, a lot of features that I would never use. As an online marketer, having everything you need in one platform may be tempting, but that could backfire as you end up with something that is okay at everything but not excellent at anything. When it comes to my business, I want the best of everything, and most times, it means different tools and platforms.
All in all, GetResponse is a robust autoresponder that caters to the needs of businesses big and small. Its intuitive interface and powerful automation capabilities make it a top choice for marketers looking to streamline their email marketing efforts.
Current GetResponse Features
One of the standout features of GetResponse is its advanced segmentation options. This allows you to divide your contact list into different groups based on specific criteria such as location, interests, or behavior. By segmenting your audience, you can send targeted emails that are more likely to resonate with each group.
Another great feature is the drag-and-drop email editor, which makes it incredibly easy to create professional-looking emails without any coding knowledge. With a wide variety of templates and customizable design options available, you can easily create visually appealing newsletters and promotional campaigns.
GetResponse also offers automation workflows, allowing you to set up personalized customer journeys based on triggers and actions taken by your subscribers. You can automate tasks such as sending welcome emails, follow-up sequences, or abandoned cart reminders, saving you time and effort in manually managing these processes.
In addition to these core features, GetResponse provides landing page creation tools that enable you to build high-converting landing pages without the need for technical skills. This is particularly useful for running effective lead-generation campaigns or promoting specific products or services.
GetResponse offers robust features designed to streamline your email marketing efforts and drive better results.
How Much Is GetResponse?
1). Free Plan: This plan includes basic list-building and email marketing tools, allowing you to send 2,500 newsletters per month and add up to 500 contacts.
2). Email Marketing Plan: Starting at $15 per month for 1,000 subscribers, this plan offers unlimited messages and a range of email marketing features.
3). Marketing Automation Plan: This plan includes everything in the Email Marketing plan plus additional features like webinars (100 attendees), event-based segmentation, sales and webinar funnels, and is priced at $59 per month for 1,000 contacts.
4). E-commerce Marketing Plan: Starting at $119 per month for 1,000 contacts, this plan is designed for online retailers and includes advanced marketing automation, ecommerce integrations, and features like abandoned cart recovery and order confirmation automation.
5). GetResponse MAX: This plan is customized for larger businesses and includes everything in the E-commerce Marketing plan, plus additional features like dedicated IP address, SMS marketing, and webinars for up to 500 attendees. The pricing for this plan is custom and can be obtained by contacting GetResponse.

It includes features like a dedicated Customer Experience Manager, priority support, and unlimited users. This is also a custom-priced plan.

It's important to note that if your subscriber list size exceeds the limit of your current plan, you will be charged for a higher contact count. For example, if you are on the $15 Basic plan for up to 1,000 subscribers and your list grows beyond this number, your charges will adjust accordingly.
GetResponse also offers discounts for annual and biennial payments, with a 30% discount for annual and a 40% discount for biennial payments. Additionally, they provide a 50% discount for non-profits.
Top 2 Other Autoresponders
When it comes to choosing the right autoresponder for your business, there are a few other options besides GetResponse that you might want to consider. Here are two top contenders in the world of email marketing:
1. Mailchimp: Known for its user-friendly interface and extensive integrations, Mailchimp is a popular choice among small businesses and startups. It offers features like a drag-and-drop email editor, audience segmentation, A/B testing, and detailed analytics. With plans starting from free to more advanced paid options, Mailchimp caters to businesses of all sizes.
Pricing
-- Mailchimp: Offers a free plan and several paid options. The Essentials plan starts at $13 per month for up to 500 subscribers, the Standard plan at $20 per month, and the Premium plan at $350 per month for up to 10,000 subscribers. Mailchimp also provides a pay-as-you-go option.
-- GetResponse: Has six pricing plans, including a free option for up to 500 subscribers. Paid plans start at $19 per month for the Email Marketing plan, $59 for the Marketing Automation plan, and $119 for the e-commerce marketing plan. The Max and Max² plans start at $999 per month.
-- GetResponse tends to be more aggressive with discounts, offering significant reductions for annual or biennial payments, while Mailchimp offers a 10% discount for enabling two-factor authentication and discounts for verified charities and non-profit organizations.
Features
-- GetResponse: Offers a wide range of features, including hundreds of email templates, advanced automation, live chat for websites, built-in stock photo and GIF libraries, and a perfect timing tool. Its automation tool is particularly advanced, with a "build from scratch" option and comprehensive segmentation capabilities.
-- Mailchimp: Known for its ease of use, offers modern, customizable email templates (though fewer in number than GetResponse), a simple automation builder, and extensive third-party integrations. However, its segmentation capabilities are less advanced compared to GetResponse.
Ease of Use
-- Mailchimp: Praised for its user-friendly interface, especially in email building, with beginner-friendly tools and helpful tips throughout various dashboard areas.
-- GetResponse: Also easy to use, but lacks some of the beginner-friendly aspects of Mailchimp, making it slightly more suited to users with prior email marketing experience.
Deliverability
-- Mailchimp: Has a slightly higher deliverability rate, offers dedicated IP addresses as an add-on, and prohibits affiliate marketing which is why I do not use them as I do affiliate marketing as part of my multiple steams of income online.
-- GetResponse: Also provides robust anti-spam policies and DKIM authentication but allows affiliate marketing, which might slightly increase the risk of being marked as spam.
Reporting and Analytics
-- Mailchimp: Offers in-depth reporting with features like click maps, geolocation, and social reporting.
-- GetResponse: Provides a customizable analytics dashboard, but it's less detailed compared to Mailchimp's offerings.
Overall
-- For beginners and small businesses: Mailchimp's ease of use and free plan make it an attractive option. But if you are an affiliate marketer like me this will not work and i recommend you use GetResponse instead!
-- For more advanced users: GetResponse's extensive features and advanced automation capabilities might be more appealing.
2. AWeber: Another well-established player in the autoresponder market is AWeber. It offers features such as customizable sign-up forms, pre-built templates, automation campaigns, and detailed reporting. AWeber also provides excellent customer support through phone calls or live chat.

Would I Recommend GetResponse?
After thoroughly reviewing GetResponse and comparing it to other top autoresponders, the answer is clear: Yes, I would highly recommend GetResponse. With its robust features, user-friendly interface, and reasonable pricing plans, it is a powerful tool that can greatly benefit businesses of all sizes.
GetResponse offers an extensive range of features that allow you to effectively manage your email marketing campaigns. From creating visually appealing emails with their drag-and-drop editor to automating your entire marketing funnel with their advanced automation workflows, GetResponse has everything you need to engage your audience and drive conversions.
Not only does GetResponse offer impressive features, but it also provides excellent customer support. Their team is available 24/7 via live chat and email to assist you with any questions or issues you may encounter along the way.
When it comes to pricing, GetResponse offers flexible plans that cater to different business needs. Whether you're just starting out or have a large subscriber base, there's a plan for everyone. Plus, they provide a 30-day free trial so you can test out their platform before committing.
While there are other autoresponder options available in the market like AWeber and Mailchimp which also have their own strengths and advantages; however, based on my research and experience using various platforms over the years, I believe that GetResponse stands out as one of the top choices for businesses looking for an efficient ESP (Email Service Provider) solution.
If you're seeking a reliable autoresponder that offers powerful features at an affordable price point while providing exceptional customer support - look no further than GetResponse. Give it a try today and see how it can transform your email marketing efforts!
